a few of my favorite things

I've found some great gems here in LosAngeles and I want to share what I've discovered about this place and what I've also discovered about God and me. Being a newcomer to downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), since March of 2014, I've had to explore, rather I get to. I've always loved exploring growing up in Michigan, China, and California. Lately, I have been reflecting on all of those beloved 'secret' places, because that is where I would encounter God.

Narnia is a hiking trail in upper peninsula Michigan, it looked like you were in the classic C.S Lewis book. Natural beauty of rocks, moss, trees, water, animals, and no people around. There was also a large boulder that had many little nooks cut out of one side and 'someone' put little doll furniture inside. We children were told that the gnomes and trolls that lived there didn't want us to see them, so they left in such a hurry that they didn't have time to take everything with them.

I know that this is what God has been reminding me about, but its also a new realization, I have been praying and asking for more joy and singing this song "...may we never loose our wonder, wide-eyed, mystified, let me be just like a child, staring at the beauty of our King." -Amanda Cook
